The truths that the Buddha
taught are something anyone can measure against their ordinary experience. Buddha said simply, " I teach
suffering and the end of suffering." Asked whether he was a god, a man or something else, he replied,
"I am awake."

transmission outside the [orthodox] teaching, nondependence on [sacred] writings, direct pointing [to the] human heart/mind.
The placement of supreme emphasis on self- power towards the realization of the ideal of enlightenment, (realization of [one's
own] Buddha Nature). - Bodhidharma Transmission is said to have started at Vulture Peak Mountain as the
Buddha was surrounded by a great host of disciples, when he picked up and held a single flower to the crowd without speaking.
Only one disciple understood and smiled.

honored and is a lay ordained Zen Buddhist lead, urban apartment Zendo, and is in the Soto Zen tradition
ofSHUNRYU SUZUKI - ROSHI. Author of Zen Mind, Beginners Mind and founder of
San Francisco Zen Center. Four of my former teachers were in the Suzuki Roshi lineage. My intentionis
to provide support for practicing Zen Buddhists as well as beginners and people who have no sangha who are interested
